Have any pre-cut fabric squares that need to be used up? Bust that stash and learn to foundation paper piece with Moda's Cake Mix (for 10" Squares) and/or Cupcake Mix (for 5" squares) packet. Choose from 12 Cake Mixes and 4 Cupcake Mixes that make different blocks. You will need one pack of background and one pack of patterned Pre-cuts and a Cake or Cupcake Mix packet. Learn the basics of finishing your quilt on your Domestic Machine.Have you finished your first quilt top and are ready to learn to quilt it? Or maybe you have a stack of quilt tops but haven't taken the leap into quilting them? Come join us! In this four week class we'll start by talking about backing, batting, thread, and more. Then we'll learn how to prepare the layers, how to baste them together, and how to quilt many different designs with a walking foot. And finally, we'll learn how to finish your quilt with binding. Learn the basics of finishing your quilt top on your domestic machine.

Make your first quilt using the Five Framed pattern which uses five coordinating one yard fabric cuts. Learn the quilting basics, including rotary cutting with a rotary cutter and mat, sewing a scant quarter inch seam, pressing, piecing the top, measuring and adding borders and have a finished quilt top ready for quilting by the end of class! Class pre-requisite: must know how to use your sewing machine. Supply list will be available for pick-up at the shop.

Have you taken the Beginning Quilting 1 class? Learned the basics of strips, squares, and rectangles? Made your first quilt top? AND . . . You're ready to learn more? In this not-quite-beginning class you'll learn the next level of skills: - Working with half-square triangles, quarter-square triangles, and flying geese - Doing foundation piecing - Creating and using templates - Doing some gentle curved piecing You'll make 5 blocks using these techniques and learn how to set them together on point, using sashing and setting triangles. 5 sessions, 3 hours each Pre-requisite: Students must have completed the Beginning Quilting 1 class or be confident with accurate rotary cutting and piecing with accurate 1/4" seams.

Dave's Famous Singer Featherweight Maintenance Class A fun, hands-on maintenance class for your Singer Featherweight machine. Students will learn to oil and lubricate your machine, change and adjust your belt, set the bobbin tension, clear thread jams and other problem-solving techniques. Each student will receive a folder to take home that includes color photos of all the machine oil and lubrication points. Students must bring their machine and power cord. This is a popular class and it does sell out quickly. Reserve your spot today.

Stunning Improv Sunbursts Working with improv can be wonderfully freeing to some, yet the outcome can seem a little overwhelming to others. You can have your cake and eat it too! Choosing constraints at the outset of an improv project can not only lower the decision-making burden that can seem overwhelming, it can also ensure your composition finishes with dramatic flair. In this class, you will experiment with several different variations of improv triangle and experiment with variables that will alter the look of each variation. You will then incorporate these blocks into a large wedge layout to make a 24" square wall hanging. NOTE: this is designed as a 2-session class, leaving 2-3 weeks in between for students to do some additional sewing)

Learn when to select on-grain or bias strips, how to form a perfect miter in under 10 seconds and achieve an "Ah-ha" moment when joining the ends. Zero in on why that 1/4" seam really matters. Practice your new skills on a Quilts for Kids preemie pad to be donated to a newborn in the Neonatal ICU at a local hospital.
