Five Framed The Five Framed pattern is a good project for learning or reviewing basic quilting skills, including how to select fabric for maximum visual impact, using a rotary cutter, reading a pattern, and mastering the quarter-inch seam. Using five fat quarters or five one-yard cuts of coordinating fabric, we'll practice all of these steps by constructing samples of the pattern's two blocks. You'll leave ready to cut and construct this smart-looking quilt.

Have fun learning quilting basics including rotary cutting, quilt rulers, quarter inch seams, half square triangles, flying geese, Y seams, templates, applique, bias cut fabric, easy curves and fusible web. You will learn 14 different quilt blocks. Degree of difficulty increases each week.

Purchase a pattern, a Roll of Bosal IN-R-Form single sided fusible, and a pack of 10" squares and join Buff to make this cushy rug in the fabric of your choice! A $10 fee will hold your place in class and be applied to your class supplies. Sewing machine with a walking foot required.

Learn when to select on-grain or bias strips, how to form a perfect miter in under 10 seconds and achieve an "Ah-ha" moment when joining the ends. Zero in on why that 1/4" seam really matters. Practice your new skills on a Quilts for Kids preemie pad to be donated to a newborn in the Neonatal ICU at a local hospital.
